Funny sightseeing

On february 23, i decided to get out taking some new photographs around Ireon. Driving toward Ireon it came in my mind to check out the temple of Hera. Maybe, with the last storm, the column fall down and i missed the millenium shot???? Who knows???
When i arrived, indeed i`ve got a surprise, but another kind of: The entrance was open and a young woman was sitting their enjoying her coffee! I was not sure if i should trust my eyes, so i just asked her if the temple is open for visiting. She answered kindly that the temple is open everyday untill 15:00.
Wow, in february??? Maybe they were just waiting for me, eh? I wish....
Anyhow i had a nice walk through the ruins getting some new shots.

Fight of the egos

Living on a small island has its advantages and disadvantages. Some roads are really narrow and special encounters need special agreements. The depicted situation took place in Paleokastro way back in September 2005. I was on my way from Samos-Town to Posidonio and drove right into this tense situation. The drivers of both heavy vehicles were not sure if they would allow themselves to drive back first. So they just got stuck up on the road in the middle of Paleokastro staring at each other! Expecting the other one to take action first.
I watched this "frozen" situation for some time, but nothig happened and so I decided to move on. I was lucky, because I was on a motor scooter, so like this other guy in front of me, I could pass the "fight of the egos" on the right hand side.
btw: for sure you don't have to be in a narrow street but for sure you need a big ego to build up any comparable situation anywhere and find yourself in such a "stuck state"!

Christmas presents

Are you still looking for some christmas presents?
How about.............
a Vespa???
or.......... a Ford Escort???
Maybe you need a complete household???
Ok ok, i admit it, the panoramic view to Kokkari is shitty and disturbing. I am sorry, next time i will shoot the crap as a close-up to avoid the shitty panoramic. But i think the washing machine there looks pretty good.......

If you have any wishes for christmas, just let me know, i point it out where to find your christmas present.
Oh Samos, what a lovely place to be,
where christmas presents are for free......
